Good News to Your Labs! Accurate data is available in the hematological analysis of laboratory animals, such as laboratory rats and mice.
New Technology
In the flow cytometry technique, highly accurate measurement of normal and abnormal cells is available based on three types of cell information obtained from one cell.
- Forward scattered light: Information about cellular size
- Side scattered light: Information about cellular internal structure (such as nucleic shape or presence/absence of granules)
- Side fluorescence: Information about nucleic acid (DNA, RNA) amount and other information
"XT-2000iV" is an analysis software package that provides 30 different blood parameters, including the WBC 5-part differential and reticulocyte count, via analysis of blood cell analytical data obtained using the product's measuring unit, the "Automated Hematology Analyzer XT-2000i", using the optimal algorithm for the specific animal species (e.g., rats, mice or dogs).
Blood cell counts, WBC 5-part differential counts, and reticulocyte counts are measured via the flow cytometry technique, using a semiconductor laser, which enables highly accurate, animal-specific measurements. The semiconductor laser used in our product is long-lived and stable over long periods, and requires a significantly small amount of power, which enables the efficient and economical use of our product.
"XT-2000iV" automatically performs each step from measurement to multi-parameter data analysis, and provides accurate data in real time, which improves the efficiency of research and development, examinations, and tests.
ccurate species-specific data
Automatic species-specific measurement and analysis are conducted by selecting the target species on the screen window. Abnormality judgment specific to each animal species is also possible.
Only 85 µL whole blood required for measurement
Only 85 µL of a blood sample is necessary for the measurement of CBC parameter + DiFF parameter + RET parameter. This is a useful characteristic for small-animal samples, where the sample volumes that can be collected are limited.
Sample volume | Manual mode: 85 µL |
CP Sampler mode: 150 µL | |
Capillary mode: 40 µL |
Species-specific scattergrams
Accurate data are available using analytical algorithms specific to each animal species, such as rats, mice or dogs. Three independent channels for DIFF, WBC/BASO, and RET enable the accurate analyses of differential WBC and reticulocytes.
DIFF scattergrams
Accurate classification and counting of normal and abnormal cells are possible by staining WBCs with a polymethine dye to stain intracellular nucleic acids.
WBC/BASO scattergrams
Accurate analysis of basophils is possible by contracting white and red blood cells other than basophils and platelets using an acidic hemolysing agent.
RET scattergrams
Accurate classification and counting of red blood cells and reticulocytes are possible, using the nucleic-acid stain method to stain white blood cells and nucleated red blood cells. The IRF is an index of red blood cell production.
PLT-O scattergrams
Accurate counting of platelets is possible by the optical counting of platelets after staining reticulocytes using the nucleic-acid staining method mentioned above.
Species-specific Algorithms
Using the scattergram manual gate setting function, an operator can set a suitable threshold while checking the scattergram.
