The VITEK?system corresponds perfectly to current bacteriological constraints, both in the clinical field and in industrial quality controls : automation provides more safety and eliminates repetitive manual operations, and the response time means that results can be provided more quickly than with manual techniques. VITEK automates all the steps needed to perform identification tests, using VITEK cards. It comprises a filler/sealer, an incubator/reader, a computer and a printer. The filler/sealer enables inoculation of cards within a few minutes. The incubator/reader simultaneously incubates and reads the cards, and has a capacity of between 32 and 480 cards depending on the model. The computer with its VITEK software continuously monitors the operations under way, stores values, processes and interprets results.
关于鉴定卡:VITEK cards are ready to use, and are designed for bacterial identification using VITEK automated system. They are individually wrapped, which ensures that the tests are perfectly conserved before use. No larger than a credit card, they are not cumbersome to store or dispose of. After inoculation, they are sealed hermetically and can therefore be handled without any risk of contamination.
Each identification card comprises 30 wells which contain biochemical substrates in a dehydrated form. No additional reagents are needed, thus eliminating any risk of omission or error. VITEK identification covers over 300 species encountered clinically, and in the industrial field.
